About Us |
|
In 1949, four Brown University students broke away from the traditional Men’s Glee Club to form their own independent singing group, The Jabberwocks of Brown University, making us the oldest a cappella group at Brown. With powerful musical performances regularly rehearsed and reimagined, the Jabberwocks remain committed to pushing the envelope of a cappella excellence. The 'Wocks have had multiple tracks featured on the Best of Collegiate A Cappella (BOCA) albums, have been honored repeatedly in the CARA awards, have competed and placed in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella, and have toured all over the world. 76 years later, the Jabberwocks’ long-standing tradition of excellence remains strong.

The Jabberwocks perform concerts at Brown, around Providence, across the country, and all over the world. The group's biggest concerts are over family weekend in October and the Spring Invitational at the end of April. |
The Jabberwocks tour twice a year, traveling internationally every two years. In 2024, the group traveled to Northern California and South Korea! |
The Jabberwocks are the only group at Brown that competes in the annual International Competition of Collegiate A Cappella. We placed 2nd and received the Outstanding Arrangement Award at the 2025 Quarterfinal Round. |
