Summer 2024 - South Korea
|
The Jabberwocks' trip to South Korea was an incredible blend of music and adventure that we'll never forget. Performing at Seoul National University and Kookmin University was a thrill—the energy from the students was contagious, making every note resonate even more. We also had the pleasure of singing at Chadwick International School, St. Paul's Preparatory School, and Aston House, each venue offering its own unique atmosphere and audience that made every performance special.
We also dove into the rich culture of Seoul, exploring the grandeur of Gyeongbokgung Palace, the lively streets of Myeongdong, and the peaceful beauty of the Han River. Every day brought something new, whether it was trying out amazing Korean food or connecting with locals who shared our passion for a cappella. We even joined a spontaneous singing competition near our hotel! This tour was the perfect mix of music, friendship, and discovery—a chapter in The Jabberwocks' story that we'll always look back on with a smile. |
Winter 2024 - Northern California
The 2024 Northern California tour was a blast, as we welcomed back three Wocks from abroad, learned new rep, and prepared for our upcoming ICCA set! We had the pleasure of singing at Menlo School, St. Matthew's Episcopal Day School, and the Peninsula Golf and Country Club, where the warm and welcoming crowds made every show memorable. The chilly winter weather didn't stop us from enjoying a trip to the beach, where we couldn't resist breaking into song despite the cold.
In between gigs, we took time to explore the Bay Area’s iconic landmarks, from the majestic Golden Gate Bridge to the serene beauty of the Palace of Fine Arts. But this tour wasn’t just about sightseeing—we also dedicated time to fine-tuning our set for the upcoming ICCA competitions in March, making sure every note and harmony was just right. A special highlight of the trip was reuniting with three of our 'Wocks who had been abroad, and we made the most of our downtime with karaoke, pool games, and movie nights. Northern California offered the perfect backdrop for honing our craft, deepening our bonds, and creating memories that will fuel us as we head into competition season. |

Summer 2022 - Los Angeles
|
Our Los Angeles tour was a series of meaningful performances and memorable experiences. We began with a Billy Joel-themed Shabbat at Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills, where lyrics like “Sing us a song, you’re the piano man” were replaced by “Sing us a prayer cantor woman,” and the warm reception truly set the tone for the rest of the trip. We also performed at Marlborough School in Hancock Park, where we had the opportunity to inspire a love of music in the students and share our passion with an eager audience. We balanced our performances with some quintessential L.A. activities, including a visit to Universal Studios and a relaxing day at the beach in Malibu. The Southern California sunshine provided the perfect backdrop for recharging between gigs. One of the tour's highlights was collaborating with the Troy Tones, an a cappella group from USC. Their energy and talent made our time together truly special and reinforced the importance of musical collaboration. We closed out the tour with a performance at the Del Mar Racecourse Track, where we sang the track’s theme song—a fitting nod to the venue. It was a unique experience to bring our music to such an unexpected setting, making it a standout moment of the trip. |
